A New AVON Year - What Are Your Goals?

The 2018 AVON year has come to an end, and with no further ado, we ushered in Campaign 1 of 2019, and thus a new trek towards President's Club and accolades for other achievements along the way.

Everybody starts again, at $0 in sales and the first level to reach is $10,000 in sales awards and thus gain the President's Club level and a guaranteed 40% commission on your orders whether they are $5 or $500 (25% on fixed earnings items instead of 20%). Other perks of attaining the  President's Club level include being able to order 3 of every demo item in the What's New book, each campaign, instead of the 1 allowed every representative, plus a get together where other achievements - top sales, team growth etc - are all recognised.

In Campaign 1 AVON is giving us double award sales points to help us get a jumpstart on our 2019 journey towards President's Club. So, if you have $25 in sales it becomes 50 points towards the 10,000 needed to achieve the goal, if you have $500 in sales, it becomes 1000 points, and so on. It's a great opportunity to start building those points!

In AVON, you can opt to sell, or to sell and "do leadership". Leadership has more responsibilities and needs you to want to build a team and then help those people to achieve their goals. Some people do not want to get into that side of the AVON business opportunity, and that's ok. This business is one in which YOU decide what you want to put into it and what you want to get out of it ...

however ...

I would like to suggest, that if you AVON goal is purely to sell, and to enjoy the benefits of a commission, the opportunity to get products ahead of customers via the demo "What's New" books, that you take a look at working towards President's Club, and thus get double commission on lower campaign sales, when you have them.

The baseline 40% commission (25% on fixed earnings items) applies to not only face-to-face orders but to those made through your e-rep store as well, so if a customer orders $80 worth of fragrance, make up and SSS, you would receive $32 in commission v. $16. If someone orders $50 boots, you'll get $12.50 commission instead of $10. Those extra dollars add up and mean MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET.

If you are a representative who simply uses his/her AVON money to fund your own purchases, then look at it this way - a $200 order in a campaign would allow you to get more of your own wants.

If your goal for 2019 is Leadership, and you don't know how to start, contact me or your immediate upline and ask us for help, that's what we are here for, that's how we earn our bonuses. My "job" is to support you, in your business, to achieve the goals you make for yourself.

If you are already in Leadership but want to grow in title this year, begin by planning what you need to do in order to accomplish it and how you are going to work towards it.

Sometimes it helps by making a dream board, so that you see your goals every day and are encouraged to start that day afresh and with the mentality to "do it today".

You have to understand your "why" and stay focused on it.

Life gets in the way. We get sick, or the kids get sick. Family members or friends have trials and tribulations that can carry us away with them. We get exhausted. We end up over committed to what others need us for.

It's ok to take a step back and get through it, and then pick up again. That's the joy of having your own business.  Knowing your "why" will help you get re-focused when you are trying to get back "on track".

Do you know your "why"?

I wish you all a wonderful 2019 AVON year, and that you achieve all you set your mind to. I know I am well blessed with knowing you all, and with the opportunity AVON has given me

What's the What's New book?

The AVON What's New book is your preview of what will be featured in an upcoming brochure, and offers you the opportunity to see what will be "hot", and to have items on hand to show, or stock up on to sell.

The AVON What’s New Campaign 24 2018 is the one we'll show here. I love it because it has so many great gift ideas in, and I know the "retro" look on many items is going to be a big draw to our customers. People like nostalgia!

AVON What’s New Brochures
are also known as AVON Demo Books and contain products that all AVON Representatives to purchase prior to the official campaign start date for the AVON brochure.

It is a chance for current Avon Reps to order new products, sales tools, and samples at discounted prices.

There are 2 prices shown: The R price is for representatives and the PRP price is the price for President’s Club members. (Another reason to strive for President's Club each year!)

Your sales level determines the quantity you can order of each product unless the item says otherwise (for example: no demo limit).

You can order demos for the current campaign and the upcoming 2 campaigns. You can order out of the AVON What’s New Campaign 24 2018 brochure in Campaign 22 2018 and Campaign 23 2018

When you are in Campaign 24 2018, you can also order out of the What’s New brochures for Campaign 25 2018 and Campaign 26 2018

Remember these catalogs are for AVON Representatives only. They are already discounted so you DO NOT EARN COMMISSION ON THEM.

They do, however, count for 75% of award sales towards your total for the Campaign.

Demo Limits

Demos give customers the chance to experience the scent of a fragrance, the shade of a lipstick, or the feel of a moisturizer…before they buy.

Order demos and samples every campaign to support AVON offers and you’ll see that demos are worth the investment.

Depending on your Avon sales level, see the demo limits below:
  • All Representatives – 1 of each demo unless specified otherwise
  • President’s Club – 3 of each demo
  • Honor Society – 5 of each demo
  • Rose Circle – 10 of each demo
  • McConnell Club – 15 of each demo
I also buy any clothing or items for myself, from the Demo book ... and then "demo it" by wearing the clothes or showing off the item.

Demo items come off your taxes at the end of the year too, so it's a win-win situation.

Earn A Vacation in Los Cabos, and/or Earn an I-PAd (new reps from 11th July on)

OK so the key to accomplishing either or both of these incentives will be planning.

For starters, make sure you have the AVON 2.0 platform as this will be key in helping you to do some of the tasks that I am going to suggest to you.

Please also, do the Social Media training under the Social Media Center tab, as being comfortable with that area is going to be very important, we will be utilizing this a lot over the next few campaigns.

Second important feature - make sure you set up a business page and a business group, for your AVON, if you have not already done so. Then link these to the Social Media Center.

Link any other Social Media platforms to it as well - Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr etc.

This is all prep for the big game - the one that ends with you a winner!

So, what's the plan?

Take each Campaign as a separate entity. So begin with Campaign 23. Go into the Social Media Center and begin by planning your posts on there. You will go to the Content Planner square. You can use AVON's "plan your week" but I am suggesting also that you use the Power of 5  and to schedule it like so:

7am    a product post out of the Campaigns section. If there is a product link, copy some of the pertinent information and use in your post. Click to add your website link and choose your e-rep store one.

10am  a recruiting post from the Recruiting, Recognition and Communications section. Just add a bit of blurb, it doesn't have to be anything long and drawn out. A simple "Oh I love my AVON, who wants to join me?" will do, or something about your AVON day. And, of course, add your recruiting link.

2pm  an inspirational post out of the Inspiration sub section of the Recruiting, Recognition and Communications and just put a short blurb with it, something simple "so true", "yes", "I agree!"

This one breaks up the "advertising" posts but keeps the folks who are watching your page or in your group, still seeing something from you!

6pm   a second product post out of the Campaigns section, done as before including your e-store link.

9pm   a recruiting post from Recruiting, Recognition and Communications, again done as before

I schedule mine for the full campaign, and (my choice) Sundays I just post one inspirational post or just a "hello, have a good day" with a nice pic. I just like to give folks a break.

Now, when you have an active sweepstakes running, you can post a sweepstakes post instead of a product post, and encourage people to enter to try to win.

So that takes care of your posts, your 5 a day.

Now, the second part of this is responding to ANY likes or comments on any of these posts. A simple "thank you" and tag the name of the liker, or if someone comments, respond to what they have said and attempt to start a conversation with them, on the post.

This building a rapport will help people to want to buy from, or join under, you when they consider AVON and that's what you are trying to do. You want people to think of you and AVON in the same breath, and to think of you any time they see any AVON ads in magazines, on tv, or on any social media.

We are in a relationships business, so those conversations we have on our social media play into that.

With our face-to-face customers, let them know that you are trying to earn one or both of these incentives and ask for their help. Ask for referrals, ask (if you know they work somewhere) if they would take a brochure into work with them and share with their colleagues or leave in a break room. Ask if you can give them an extra book to pass on to a friend.

Also, remember to make sure every brochure that you hand out has your name/phone#/email and website on! Every brochure.

This is just the beginning, and we can all do this!

Happy AVON-ing and good luck!

New Representative Training - Finding Motivation

I've been with AVON now almost 12 years, and I still look to others for motivation and ideas, and AVON has some awesome reps who share what they've learned, by video, live conference calls, and blog posts, and I always advise people to check out certain ones because of the value they give.

In life, you have to keep learning. In your business, it's the same. The more you know, as they say.

Now, people are different. People's teaching styles are different, and you may not like the way one or more people present their knowledge. Their style and approach may not be how you'd like, and you don't enjoy watching and/or listening to them. One person may seem too pumped up, another too laid back, one may be almost aggressive in their approach and another may bore you with their monotone. It's ok, find someone else. There are so many brilliant AVON reps out there who are willing to share what they've learned in their careers.

Who are my favourites?

For starters, Lisa Wilber. She is an amazing lady, a single parent, who has really built herself an AVON Empire. She does the Monday Morning Madness calls and has her own Facebook group for it.

Then there's Miss Molly ... Molly Stone-Bibb. She tells it like it is, no holds barred. Some may not like her delivery, if she's not for you, that's ok, but she is a wealth of information and I just love me some Molly! Molly's group on Facebook is Onward! No Matter What!

Theresa Paul, does Tuesdays With Theresa, on Facebook, and is a lovely down to earth lady.

Lisa Monoson has an amazing amount of videos on youtube, and is also on Facebook, and hers are not all motivational, a lot are how-tos or taking about particular products.

There are also some non-AVON folks that I love. Although now gone, Jim Rohn is still very much an online presence and his words of wisdom work. I also like Zig Ziglar, Nic Vujicik, Suze Orman (who recommended AVON as the best opportunity for making money!) and a few others. They each speak to different "needs" in my self motivation.

Find your favourites. The key is to keep growing in your knowledge and your SELF - confidence, ability and esteem.

New Representative Training - Make Connections!

You'll hear established reps saying it all the time "power of 3" or "power of 5" but what does it mean? What exactly is this "power" nd how does it affect or help your business?

We all know that, especially when beginning a business, we need to get our name out there. We want people to see an AVON ad on the tv or in a magazine and think of YOU as THEIR go-to person for AVON. So you think, "well, ok, my friends and family know I sell, so they'll think that" but friends and family can only buy so much. You need to find other customers who will also buy from you, when they need AVON.

This is where "the power of 3" or "the power of 5" comes in. Basically, you commit to yourself, to speak to 3 or 5 people daily about AVON. I actually find goodie bags are a great ice-breaker for this, when you are out in person. They also mean there's less pressure on you to "push" your AVON business in the conversation.

A simple "Hi, I'm giving out little goodie bags today to share some love" as you hand over your gift is all. And then turn the conversation to something else - comment on maybe earrings they are wearing "oh those are pretty earrings, they go really well with your (hair/top/whatever) or talk about their children (if they have some with them).

The key is to make a connection. Become a friend. Take time to stand and chat, if they are willing. Don't worry about pushing information on them, or asking them to look at the brochure, as long as your business card is in that goodie bag, they have your information and can contact you when they need to.

After your conversation ends, say something like "I've so enjoyed talking to you. Can I have your email address or phone number to keep in touch, I'd love to talk with you again" and hopefully they will give you both. you can even say "I'm on Facebook/Snapchat/Google if you'd like to catch me on there".

Easy and no stress, just make a new friend!

So, if you decide to work "the power of 3" then you will connect with 3 people daily, that's 15 people in a 5 day period.

For the first week, maybe contact once a day. A simple, "hi, how are you doing today" text or email, a bit of a chat about the weather/day's activities/kids and maybe a phone call at the end of the week for an in-person chat. You don't want them to feel hounded, just a "getting to know you".

However ...

Make sure you have added their info into your AVON address book. Then as each new campaign begins you can send the Campaign Email to them. So every 2 weeks they'll be getting an AVON email from you.

After your initial week of contact, you can begin to just act as friends, maybe daily contact on Facebook, and you can bring AVON into a conversation if you're talking in person or chatting online. Simple - maybe a "well, I need to get off here, my AVON order was delivered and I need to get it unpacked" or "I have to head out, i have some AVON deliveries to do".

If you are now friends on Facebook, they'll see your posts so make sure to include your AVON activities in those posts.

Yes, you want their business, you want the sales, but people tend to by from people they CONNECT WITH. They'll buy from you because they like you, they have a rapport with you.

So make those connections. They are the seeds from which your customer base will grow.

And there may be some who will never become a customer, for whatever reason BUT they may well refer others to you thus are a worthwhile part of your network.

Have fun!

New Representative Training - Your AVON Store and the AVON Social Media Center

You've signed up, and set up your account, and now you're waiting for your kit to arrive ... and the enthusiasm you came in with just seems like it's on hold until your kit arrives. After all, that's got all your tools and products in, right?

Well, yes ... and no.

You have 2 amazing tools open to you that you can start using for your business RIGHT AWAY!

Your E-store ... you can share the link to it with your friends, by email, by text, and by posting on social media.

Forgotten your store url?  That's easy enough to find. Just log into youravon.com and click on the tab that says Web Office. About 1/3 way down, on the right side of the page, it will tell you your website url ... and that's what you share with people. It takes them straight to your website so that they can order from you, from anywhere in the USA.

The second is the Social Media Center, under the AVON Social tab. It's full of posts that you can just click to post on Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter. Easy peasy. And all product posts link to ... YOUR E-Store. All recruiting posts link to the sign up page on your site. Just click the box where it says to Add A Website Link and then choose which link you want to put on that post. AVON has taken the guesswork out of it, making it very easy to promote your store and also to recruit team members.

The Social Media Center has posts of all kinds, it also allows you to schedule posts ahead of time so that you can have an online presence even when you are offline.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at rosesavonshoppe@aol.com I'm always happy to help
