New Representative Training - Finding Motivation

I've been with AVON now almost 12 years, and I still look to others for motivation and ideas, and AVON has some awesome reps who share what they've learned, by video, live conference calls, and blog posts, and I always advise people to check out certain ones because of the value they give.

In life, you have to keep learning. In your business, it's the same. The more you know, as they say.

Now, people are different. People's teaching styles are different, and you may not like the way one or more people present their knowledge. Their style and approach may not be how you'd like, and you don't enjoy watching and/or listening to them. One person may seem too pumped up, another too laid back, one may be almost aggressive in their approach and another may bore you with their monotone. It's ok, find someone else. There are so many brilliant AVON reps out there who are willing to share what they've learned in their careers.

Who are my favourites?

For starters, Lisa Wilber. She is an amazing lady, a single parent, who has really built herself an AVON Empire. She does the Monday Morning Madness calls and has her own Facebook group for it.

Then there's Miss Molly ... Molly Stone-Bibb. She tells it like it is, no holds barred. Some may not like her delivery, if she's not for you, that's ok, but she is a wealth of information and I just love me some Molly! Molly's group on Facebook is Onward! No Matter What!

Theresa Paul, does Tuesdays With Theresa, on Facebook, and is a lovely down to earth lady.

Lisa Monoson has an amazing amount of videos on youtube, and is also on Facebook, and hers are not all motivational, a lot are how-tos or taking about particular products.

There are also some non-AVON folks that I love. Although now gone, Jim Rohn is still very much an online presence and his words of wisdom work. I also like Zig Ziglar, Nic Vujicik, Suze Orman (who recommended AVON as the best opportunity for making money!) and a few others. They each speak to different "needs" in my self motivation.

Find your favourites. The key is to keep growing in your knowledge and your SELF - confidence, ability and esteem.

New Representative Training - Make Connections!

You'll hear established reps saying it all the time "power of 3" or "power of 5" but what does it mean? What exactly is this "power" nd how does it affect or help your business?

We all know that, especially when beginning a business, we need to get our name out there. We want people to see an AVON ad on the tv or in a magazine and think of YOU as THEIR go-to person for AVON. So you think, "well, ok, my friends and family know I sell, so they'll think that" but friends and family can only buy so much. You need to find other customers who will also buy from you, when they need AVON.

This is where "the power of 3" or "the power of 5" comes in. Basically, you commit to yourself, to speak to 3 or 5 people daily about AVON. I actually find goodie bags are a great ice-breaker for this, when you are out in person. They also mean there's less pressure on you to "push" your AVON business in the conversation.

A simple "Hi, I'm giving out little goodie bags today to share some love" as you hand over your gift is all. And then turn the conversation to something else - comment on maybe earrings they are wearing "oh those are pretty earrings, they go really well with your (hair/top/whatever) or talk about their children (if they have some with them).

The key is to make a connection. Become a friend. Take time to stand and chat, if they are willing. Don't worry about pushing information on them, or asking them to look at the brochure, as long as your business card is in that goodie bag, they have your information and can contact you when they need to.

After your conversation ends, say something like "I've so enjoyed talking to you. Can I have your email address or phone number to keep in touch, I'd love to talk with you again" and hopefully they will give you both. you can even say "I'm on Facebook/Snapchat/Google if you'd like to catch me on there".

Easy and no stress, just make a new friend!

So, if you decide to work "the power of 3" then you will connect with 3 people daily, that's 15 people in a 5 day period.

For the first week, maybe contact once a day. A simple, "hi, how are you doing today" text or email, a bit of a chat about the weather/day's activities/kids and maybe a phone call at the end of the week for an in-person chat. You don't want them to feel hounded, just a "getting to know you".

However ...

Make sure you have added their info into your AVON address book. Then as each new campaign begins you can send the Campaign Email to them. So every 2 weeks they'll be getting an AVON email from you.

After your initial week of contact, you can begin to just act as friends, maybe daily contact on Facebook, and you can bring AVON into a conversation if you're talking in person or chatting online. Simple - maybe a "well, I need to get off here, my AVON order was delivered and I need to get it unpacked" or "I have to head out, i have some AVON deliveries to do".

If you are now friends on Facebook, they'll see your posts so make sure to include your AVON activities in those posts.

Yes, you want their business, you want the sales, but people tend to by from people they CONNECT WITH. They'll buy from you because they like you, they have a rapport with you.

So make those connections. They are the seeds from which your customer base will grow.

And there may be some who will never become a customer, for whatever reason BUT they may well refer others to you thus are a worthwhile part of your network.

Have fun!

New Representative Training - Your AVON Store and the AVON Social Media Center

You've signed up, and set up your account, and now you're waiting for your kit to arrive ... and the enthusiasm you came in with just seems like it's on hold until your kit arrives. After all, that's got all your tools and products in, right?

Well, yes ... and no.

You have 2 amazing tools open to you that you can start using for your business RIGHT AWAY!

Your E-store ... you can share the link to it with your friends, by email, by text, and by posting on social media.

Forgotten your store url?  That's easy enough to find. Just log into youravon.com and click on the tab that says Web Office. About 1/3 way down, on the right side of the page, it will tell you your website url ... and that's what you share with people. It takes them straight to your website so that they can order from you, from anywhere in the USA.

The second is the Social Media Center, under the AVON Social tab. It's full of posts that you can just click to post on Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter. Easy peasy. And all product posts link to ... YOUR E-Store. All recruiting posts link to the sign up page on your site. Just click the box where it says to Add A Website Link and then choose which link you want to put on that post. AVON has taken the guesswork out of it, making it very easy to promote your store and also to recruit team members.

The Social Media Center has posts of all kinds, it also allows you to schedule posts ahead of time so that you can have an online presence even when you are offline.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at rosesavonshoppe@aol.com I'm always happy to help
